My saving grace (the actual photo on my camera)! The tourist info didn't have any to give out (no idea why) and my GPS didn't have maps for Africa - just kept looking at the photo on the camera. Phew! |

Hakim and Mustapha
Very friendly guys. Hakim was the tourist information guy that I started chatting to and once he found out I was a Canadian it was like I was his best friend. He was actually reading a novel from an author that was from Vancouver. Too funny! |

Happen to stumble upon their fish market! Like nothing I have seen before. The flith, stench and utter chaos is something I can't even describe in words. I didn't stay around long as I stuck out like a sore thumb. |

Very particular about clean cars...even old beat up ones. |

The iconic and infamous "Rick's Cafe" - not the real one from the movie "Casablanca" but modeled after (more pics down below) |

Almost got thrown in jail for this shot. Had army guys with guns coming up to me waving and telling me "No! No!". Then they wanted to see my camera and to see what photos I had taken. Little did I know this was a naval compound. I just wanted the photo for a friends daughter whose name is Yasmin. |

Saw this big crowd that was running along this great wall watching one guy fishing...I thought it must have been pretty important so I hung around to see the fish...(see below) |

Turns out it wasn't a fish at all...it was a very drunk guy that was way out in the sea (hard to see him on the ground through the legs). When I first saw him I thought he was dead...he didn't move for probably a minute at least. |

This guy was hanging out in the shade (it was about 35C out and quite humid) cleaning the fish and reading while his mate fished- as I got closer I heard music coming from this little radio (see below)... |

As I get closer...it's Rhianna's Disturbia playing! I had to take a photo. I'm in the middle of a 98% Muslim country during Ramadanand I hear that! It floored me! |

This is the buddy fishing while the other rocks out to Rhianna! Too funny! |

Amazing coastline and then to see it littered with all this garbage was so sad! I was in a very poor area and I guess this was their only "dump". |

I know I know!! I'm in a land of amazing food and I eat at McD's right? Well little did I know I was there during Ramadan - Muslim religous month long holiday with no eating or drinking from sunrise to sunset. So all the restaurants were closed during these hours!
McArabia anyone? |

Or a chicken Mythic? |

Can tell it's a French dominant country...even McD's serves "Dijon" not even regular! |

Gorgeous beaches and beach clubs - but during Ramadan they are empty. They don't swim for fear of getting water in their mouth, which would classify as consuming which is strictly forbidden. (as was explained by a local) |

Came across one of the beaches and it was littered by hundreds of guys playing "footie". It was something I had never seen before. The tide was out so that sand was really hard. |

Everything is run by "Petit Taxis" in Morocco. This one was a nice enough guy but totally took me for a run. I wanted to go to Rick's Cafe.."Ya ya I know where" 30mins later still not there. Then I asked him and he looked at my confused saying I told him I wanted any restaurant. Don't forget English is not spoken very much at all. French and Arabic are the 2 languages that are. |

Was kind of cool - was watching "Casablanca" in Casablanca! |

Didn't eat there. |

They are all still alive - just tied up together by their feet! |

Goodbye Casablanca.... hello Marrakech! |
